Nurturing Parent Classes

The Nurturing Parenting Program is an education program to be used with families in situations that impact their ability to parent.  Sessions are 2 hours in duration and meet weekly for 8 weeks.

Nurturing parenting programs are effective for families at risk of abuse and neglect or in recovery for alcohol and other drug use.  The program helps families have positive changes in parenting and child rearing attitudes, including: appropriate expectations, empathy, corporal punishment, and parent-child role reversal.  The curriculum places greater emphasis on helping parents develop concrete parenting skills as well as think about the importance of parent and child relationships.
