Bilingual counselors available for Latino Families

Parent Helpline (Kids Don't Come With Instructions Hotline) is a 24 hour, toll-free helpline providing supportive listening, information, and referrals for families experiencing problems or stress. Parents are encouraged to explore solutions to the stresses of parenting and assistance is provided to link families with community support services. Behavior management, child development and non-physical forms of discipline are discussed.

Parent Pathway

Parent Pathway offers in home parent coaching, support and information to expectant parents and families with at-risk newborns. Though parents in crisis can self refer to Parent Pathway, the program primarily receives referrals from other community agencies, such as area hospitals, local health departments and mental health centers. Family support counselors offer emotional support, discuss infant care and development, model parenting skills, and link families with community resources. Parents are eligible for the program if they are in the last trimester of pregnancy or the child is less than six months old. Parent Pathway counselors remain with the family for a minimum of one year, working to build strengths and support networks.

We have two home visitation workers that serve 40 families in Davidson County. If you are interested in referring someone to the Parent Pathway program please contact Abbey Chamness or Letitica Gonzalez at 615-383-0994 or click here to email them. Please include in the subject line Parent Pathway.
